Farmers Union Yogurt to host morning rave at Cali Beach Club

Source: Supplied

Farmers Union Yogurt is bringing a morning rave to Cali Beach Club on the Gold Coast on February 21. The event pairs DJs and sunrise dance-floor energy with high-protein Greek yogurt sampling.

Created in partnership with Cali Beach Club and AM Social, the event reflects the growing shift toward daytime social culture, where early starts, high-energy playlists and food-fuelled rituals are replacing late nights and next-day recovery.

Fuelling the dance floor is Farmers Union, widely recognised as one of Australia’s most loved Greek style yogurt brands.

A long-time staple on the breakfast bench, the brand has recently expanded into a High Protein Greek Style Yogurt range designed to move from morning rituals through to post-workout recovery. Guests will be able to sample the range throughout the session, built around a creamy texture with added functional benefits.

Alongside the yogurt sampling, the food offering includes Tiramisu Chia Pudding and a Japanese-style cheesecake made using Farmers Union High Protein Greek Style Yogurt, giving the morning crowd something substantial between sets.

The line-up features artists embedded in Australia’s music and nightlife scenes, now shifting their sound to an earlier slot.

Eggs Benny opens with groove-driven selections shaped by years of festival and hospitality performances nationwide. DJ Talisha follows with a polished mix of house and contemporary electronic, drawing on experience across clubs, fashion events and brand activations. YES BOONE closes the session with genre-blending sets and immersive builds shaped by festival stages, club nights and creative collaborations.

Morning raves are gaining traction as part of a broader cultural shift. People still want to dance and connect, but without the late-night finish.

The Cali Beach Club session runs from 8 am to 11.30 am on Saturday, February 21, with Farmers Union High Protein Greek Style Yogurt sampling available throughout.

Grill’d and Oscar Piastri launch nationwide fundraiser for childhood cancer charity

Grill’d is putting My Room Children’s Cancer Charity in the spotlight this June, committing $90,000 to support families affected by childhood cancer. Throughout June, My Room will take over every Local Matters jar across Grill’d’s 178 restaurants nationwide, with the burger chain committing a total donation of $90,000 to support family services, clinical care and childhood cancer research. Customers who purchase a burger at any Grill’d restaurant during the month will receive a token that can be placed into a My Room Local Matters jar as a show of support. The campaign takes place in partnership with Grill’d ambassador Oscar Piastri. The Formula One driver first became involved with My Room in 2025 after meeting Kruz, a young patient battling a rare form of leukaemia at the Melbourne Grand Prix. Piastri later auctioned a race-worn helmet, raising $107,000 for the charity and becoming an official My Room ambassador. His mother, Nicole, has also become involved in supporting the organisation. A life-changing journey Founded more than three decades ago, My Room Children’s Cancer Charity provides support to families navigating childhood cancer while also funding clinical care, research and trials aimed at improving outcomes for young patients. “For more than 33 years, My Room Children’s Cancer Charity has been there for families when life changes in an instant, from the moment their child is diagnosed and throughout every stage of the journey that follows,” said Margaret Zita OAM, CEO of My Room Children’s Cancer Charity. “Through this partnership with Grill’d, we have the opportunity to reach more families, raise greater awareness, and help ensure more children and young adults receive the care, support, and access to research they need. “We are incredibly grateful to Grill’d for getting behind My Room, and to every customer who chooses to show their support for us this June. It may seem like a small token, but together those tokens are an act of support that helps us change lives.” Local matters The June campaign marks one of the largest national charity partnerships undertaken through Grill’d’s Local Matters program, which has donated more than $7 million to community organisations since launching in 2011. Simon Crowe, Managing Director and Founder of Grill’d, said, “Local Matters has always been about giving back to local communities across the country and we’re proud to have donated over $7 million to tens of thousands of local community groups since 2011. “Childhood cancer impacts families right across Australia and we are hoping to raise awareness of the extraordinary work My Room does for these kids and families who rely on their support every day. This partnership is about supporting My Room and this incredible cause, and we’re honoured to play a small part in that.” Customers can support My Room throughout June by purchasing a burger at any Grill’d restaurant nationwide and placing their token into a My Room Local Matters jar. Australia’s first Peanut Butter Cold Foam has landed at Two Slices

Australia’s first Peanut Butter Cold Foam has landed in Sydney and Perth thanks to a new collaboration between Pic’s Peanut Butter and sandwich destination Two Slices. Available until June 13, the limited-edition menu pairs the nutty cold foam with a nostalgic PB & Jelly Sandwich, giving foodies a new excuse to stop by the Bondi or Scarborough location this week. Created using smooth Pic’s Peanut Butter, the Peanut Butter Cold Foam is available on both coffee and matcha, bringing the trending cold foam format into peanut butter territory for the first time. “We’re thrilled to launch the first peanut butter cold foam in Australia with our friends at Pic’s Peanut Butter. We know our customers in Sydney and Perth are going to go nuts for it. We’re always looking for ways to take familiar flavours and elevate them through quality ingredients,” said Jacob Spasevski, co-founder of Two Slices Sandwich Bar. “We love the idea of reimagining the nostalgic PB&J and bringing peanut butter into the coffee space in a way people haven’t experienced before.” The collaboration also includes a limited-edition PB & Jelly Sandwich, which combines freshly baked Two Slices focaccia with Pic’s Peanut Butter, homemade raspberry jam and a drizzle of olive oil. The response so far has been positive, with social media commenters and creators praising it for being an innovative surprise. Perth creator @habibiinperth said: “I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The Peanut Butter Cold Foam was such a fun surprise. I’m not even a huge fan of peanut butter, but somehow it just worked and ended up being so delicious.” While peanut butter has long been a staple in smoothies, desserts and breakfast dishes, the collaboration marks a new take on the ingredient, bringing it into the coffee space through a creamy, savoury-sweet cold foam. The limited-edition menu is available at Two Slices Sandwich Bar’s two locations until June 13. Source: Good Appetite Find more food and drink news on Crumb Wire.

Firehouse Subs is opening its first Australian restaurant in Brisbane

Firehouse Subs is opening its first Australian restaurant at Westfield Mt Gravatt next month, bringing one of North America’s biggest sandwich chains to Brisbane. The July opening marks the Australian debut of the US sandwich brand, which operates more than 1,300 restaurants across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil, Albania and the United Arab Emirates. The opening marks a sandwich swap-out for Brisbane shoppers, with the new Firehouse Subs set to open in the tenancy formerly occupied by Subway at Westfield Mt Gravatt. Three decades of hot subs Founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1994 by former firefighter brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs has spent more than three decades building a strong following around its hot toasted subs and made-to-order approach. The Brisbane restaurant is the first location in a broader Australian rollout being led by ASX-listed Retail Food Group, with additional stores expected to open throughout the year. Firehouse Subs is owned by Restaurant Brands International, the global hospitality giant behind Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes. “The centre has the foot traffic, a passionate Brisbane food scene and a community ready to try something genuinely new,” said Firehouse Subs General Manager Tracy Steinwand. “We’re bringing the full Firehouse experience to Mt Gravatt. Meats sliced fresh in store, steamed hot to order, served on a toasted roll. It’s a sub built with big flavour to please appetites, and it’s the start of a much bigger Australian story. “We have ambitious plans for the brand here, and with the new store pipeline filling nicely, this is just the start of bringing a better sub to Australians.” The brand’s arrival comes as competition in Australia’s sandwich market continues to heat up, with Firehouse Subs looking to carve out its place in a category long dominated by established players and local independents. The restaurant hoarding has already gone up at the site, with the restaurant expected to welcome its first Australian customers in early July. Regina launches dedicated Roman-style pizza night in Redfern

Regina La Pizzeria is launching a dedicated Scrocchiarella Night in Redfern, giving Sydneysiders a weekly excuse to try the Roman-style pizza that’s starting to pop up across the city. Running every Tuesday from 5:30 pm, the new offering allows diners to order any of Regina’s signature pizza combinations on a scrocchiarella base, a paper-thin Roman pizza known for its crackling crunch and edge-to-edge crispness. Prices start from $24 for a margherita or marinara. While Neapolitan pizza has dominated Sydney’s pizza scene in recent years, scrocchiarella is beginning to gain traction locally. Neil Perry recently introduced the style at Pizzeria Sotto, while Felons Seafood in Manly has developed its own interpretation, making Regina’s dedicated weekly offering a timely addition to the growing trend. The crunch factor Unlike contemporary high-hydration pizzas, scrocchiarella is made using a low-hydration dough that is rolled thin by hand before being baked at high temperatures to create maximum crunch. For Regina co-founder and pizza chef Matteo Ernandes, the addition builds on the venue’s broader focus on exploring different styles of pizza through technique, fermentation and baking methods. A pizza playground in Redfern Located within Redfern’s Wunderlich Lane precinct, Regina has built a reputation for its technical approach to dough and pizza making. The restaurant explores multiple pizza styles across its menu, including contemporary high-hydration pizzas, padellino and twice-cooked pizzas, alongside handmade pasta and seasonal Italian dishes. The venue was awarded three slices in the 2026 Gambero Rosso Pizzerie d’Italia guide, becoming the only Sydney pizzeria to receive the publication’s highest recognition that year. Regina’s regular menu includes pizzas such as the Bocelli with four cheeses, candied walnuts and truffle honey, the Versace topped with king prawns, bottarga and confit garlic and the Bellucci, a twice-cooked pizza finished with stracciatella, mortadella and macadamia rocket pesto. Scrocchiarella Night kicks off on June 9, running every Tuesday from 5:30 pm at Regina La Pizzeria, Wunderlich Lane, Redfern. Source: The Cru Find more dining out updates on Crumb Wire.
