Farm Door Riverina, a Wagga Wagga–based business known for farm-fresh produce and ready-made meal delivery, will host the Riverina Long Lunch and Good Food Weekend on September 20 and 21, 2025. The event will take place on a private family farm between Wagga Wagga and Junee.
The weekend-long affair is built around slow food, regional produce and community. The headline event is a long lunch with fire-cooked dishes by celebrity chef Charly Pretet of Terra Firma Dining, using ingredients sourced from Riverina growers. Guests can also expect live music, local cocktails and artisan produce.
On Sunday, the program shifts to the Sunday Drive, taking visitors across Junee, Temora, Coolamon and Wagga Wagga LGAs. Stops will include tastings, kids workshops, flower picking and farm-gate experiences. Tickets are sold per car and include a bundle of vouchers for participating stops.
For those who love to get their hands dirty and their bellies full, Pretet will also be leading a 6-hour private workshop in the art of open-fire cooking.
Farm Door, previously known as My Chef, has built a reputation for delivering healthy, ready-made meals and produce boxes to households in Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Albury and across regional NSW.
“This isn’t just a meal – it’s a moment,” says Farm Door founder, Zoe Lamont. “We’re creating space to slow down, share stories, celebrate and connect with the growers and makers that make the Riverina so special.”
Riverina is frequently referred to as the ‘Food Bowl of Australia’. The area contributes over 25% of NSW’s fruit and vegetables, produces 90% of the state’s citrus, 80% of its wine grapes, and generates more than $1 billion in annual agricultural output.
Stretching across a fertile floodplain supported by the Murrumbidgee irrigation system, the Riverina is renowned for its wine, rice, citrus, lamb, and artisan produce. The Riverina Good Food Weekend aims to flip that script by putting local ingredients straight into the hands of visitors and the community, fresh from the farm or fire.
The Riverina Long Lunch and Good Food Weekend is supported by the NSW Government through Destination NSW. Tickets can be found here.
