Hugos Chocolates has teamed up with Cinnabon to turn the cinnamon scroll into a bite-sized supermarket treat.
The new Hugos Cinnabon Bombs will launch exclusively at Coles stores nationwide and online this August, bringing the American bakery chain’s signature cinnamon-and-cream-cheese flavour into the confectionery aisle.
The 130g packs are made in Australia and are set to retail for $6.50.
Each bomb features a soft cinnamon-flavoured centre made with Makara cinnamon and crispy filo pastry pieces, wrapped in a smooth cream cheese frosting-style shell inspired by a cinnamon scroll.
Hugos founder Costa Kon says, “At Hugos, we love being the first to bring global flavour trends to Australians in a way that feels fun, new and impossible to ignore.
“The Cinnabon® craze is huge internationally right now and we knew we had to turn it into a Bomb. Collaborations and viral flavour drops are where the category is heading, and we’re excited to keep pushing the boundaries with retailers, like Coles.”
It is a very direct hit for anyone who has noticed cinnamon taking over bakeries, TikTok feeds and dessert menus lately. The flavour has been doing serious online overtime, from loaded scrolls to at-home recipes and the kind of sticky, pull-apart buns people queue for.
In fact, #cinnamonrolls seems to have earned celebrity status on TikTok over the past few months.
For Hugos, the collaboration follows the brand’s Milk Chocolate Pistachio Bombs, which picked up attention as Australia’s answer to the viral Dubai chocolate trend.
The Cinnabon connection also gives the product a brand name Australians already recognise, even if their closest experience of it has been through airport food courts, overseas trips or endless American food content online.
“Cinnabon has built a global fanbase, and this collaboration transforms those beloved tastes into a unique confectionery experience,” said Dave Mikita, President of International and Retail Channels Licensing at GoTo Foods.
“Hugos has a proven track record of creating innovative products that capture consumer attention, making them an ideal partner to help us extend the Cinnabon brand beyond our bakeries and into new snacking occasions.”
The launch comes as confectionery brands continue to borrow from café, bakery and restaurant culture, turning familiar desserts into snack aisle formats designed to stand out on shelves and travel well on social media.
Hugos Cinnabon Bombs will be available exclusively at Coles stores nationwide and online from August 10.
