Melbourne’s Gigi’s Gelato and St Remio Coffee have collaborated on a new Christmas release, combining traditional panettone with coffee semifreddo for a seasonal dessert offering. The limited-edition panettone is available to order until December 8, with collection available up to December 23.
Created by chef Gigi Pozzoli, the panettone uses St Remio’s St Francis blend, a medium-light roast characterised by chocolate notes and subtle nutty sweetness.
Each panettone is hollowed, soaked in Cointreau syrup and filled with a coffee semifreddo before being finished with either a chocolate or coffee glaze and a dusting of chocolate shavings.
“We’re very proud of this panettone,” said Gigi Pozzoli. “There’s nothing quite like it on the market.”
Both brands share a Slow Food influence, reflected in their focus on quality ingredients and considered production.
“We want people to see more than just an end product,” added Julia Tink, St Remio Co-Founder.
“It’s about acknowledging the journey – from the farmers who grow our coffee beans to the hands that craft them into something special.”
The collaboration brings together Gigi’s Gelato’s Italian dessert craft and St Remio’s approach to sustainably sourced coffee.
The panettone is priced at $105 for the chocolate glaze and $100 for the coffee glaze.
