Woolworths is serving up a new range of ice creams inspired by some of Australia’s favourite bakery treats, launching in supermarkets nationwide from Wednesday, October 15.
The limited-edition line reimagines three nostalgic desserts in ice cream form, bringing a sweet dose of comfort to the freezer aisle just in time for summer.
Woolworths Mud Cake Ice Cream features rich chocolate ice cream with real chunks of the supermarket’s famous mud cake and a swirl of chocolate fudge ripple.
Woolworths Lamington Ice Cream combines raspberry ripple, coconut and cocoa for a creamy nod to the classic Australian treat.
Woolworths Pavlova Ice Cream celebrates the summer staple with a white chocolate base, meringue pieces and a passionfruit and mango ripple.
The launch follows Woolworths’ August release of 900g finish-at-home decorated cakes for kids, which gave families a creative spin on birthday and celebration classics.
The line has already made its social media debut on food creator @nectoriouspapi‘s Instagram page in a reel that covers the latest finds at his local.
Madeleine Tapley, Woolworths Product Developer for Freezer (or Chief Ice Cream Officer), says: “When you think about some of the most popular Aussie desserts and treats, our famous mud cake, lamingtons and pavlovas are definitely up there. By mixing these iconic flavours with ice cream, we’re hoping to bring a sweet treat for everyone to enjoy as we head into summer.
“As well as leaning into these classic flavours, we decided to blend in some trendy flavour profiles like passionfruit to add another layer of flare and excitement. We’ve poured a lot of care into crafting this range so every scoop captures that perfect balance of taste and texture.”
Each new ice cream flavour is made using fresh Australian dairy and will be available in 1L tubs for RRP $6.50 across Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores.
Woolworths sells more than nine million tubs and multipacks of ice cream every month and expects the new range to be a hit as the weather warms up.
