Katie Lolas, aka Lady Lolas, has redefined meal prep for a generation of Aussies, mixing no-nonsense wellness with viral food hacks and a candid take on life. In this profile, she takes Crumb Wire through her creator journey, the partnerships that put her on the map and why she believes food should be simple, nourishing and free of guilt.
Let’s start with the basics – What are your handles?
You can find me on Instagram and TikTok at @lady.lolas and my website/blog is www.ladylolas.com.
How would you describe the content you create?
I share practical, no-BS wellness and meal prep content, but always through a lens of balance, intentional living and culture. My community knows me for keeping things real: nourishing food without guilt, wellness without restriction and candid reflections on motherhood, mental health and boundaries.
Tell us about your creator journey so far.
My journey started with burnout. I was juggling teaching, marketing and trying to keep up with this “perfect life” image and it left me overwhelmed and anxious. I started sharing honestly online and it turned into Lady Lolas: a space where food prep meets wellness, motherhood, culture and community. Over the years, it’s grown into a platform that not only inspires others but continues to hold me accountable to living authentically.
What have been some of your biggest achievements and challenges along the way?
Achievements I’m proud of include building this loyal community, being featured in Women’s Health, Body + Soul and 9Honey and collaborating with brands like Woolworths, HelloFresh, Bonds and GreenPan.
I’ve also created viral content that has sparked conversations on everything from meal prep hacks to boundary setting.
The challenges? Balancing it all, part-time teaching, being a mum of two, grieving my sister’s passing and navigating my own mental health. But those struggles shaped my voice and they’re why my platform feels relatable.
How has the social media food scene changed since you started? What do you love (or not love) about where it’s heading?
It’s become much more fast-paced and trend-driven, especially with Reels and TikTok. I love seeing more diverse voices and cuisines being celebrated; it feels like the table is getting bigger. But I don’t love how meaningful, thoughtful content can sometimes get buried under quick trends. For me, it’s always about keeping things real and sustainable.
What do you wish people understood better about content creation?
That it’s not just cooking, filming and posting. It’s editing, strategy, brand partnerships, constant adaptation and a lot of unseen emotional labour. But when you do it authentically, it’s worth it because you’re not just creating content, you’re building a community and sparking conversations that matter.
Which food creators or pages are you following right now?
I love following creators who bring heart and authenticity to their cooking. Two of my absolute favourites are @leahitsines and @recipe_tin. I’ve been following them both for years and I love the personality and flair they bring to all things cooking and food.
What’s your foodie top-tip?
Keep it simple and build flavour as you go. Seasoning at every stage makes all the difference and when in doubt, a squeeze of lemon or a drizzle of olive oil can lift any dish.
And finally, what do you enjoy doing outside of work and content creation?
I’m a proud mum to Harper and Eli, married to SG and we’ve also got Rupert the cavoodle keeping us on our toes! Outside of family, teaching and content, I love singing. I recently joined an adult pop choir and it’s brought so much joy and balance back into my life.
