Darrell Lea has added to its line-up of liquorice and chocolate mash-ups with the launch of Choc Logs, now on shelves nationwide.
The new range takes either raspberry or classic black liquorice and wraps it around a smooth milk chocolate centre. Both flavours come in three-stick packs, priced at $3.00, designed for an easy share or a quick treat on the go.
“It’s all about creating those fun little moments you can share – whether it’s with friends, family or someone special,” says Jane James, Head of Marketing at Darrell Lea. “Raspberry has been especially popular with younger fans, so we wanted to hero that flavour and bring something exciting and playful to your on-the-go snack.”
It’s another spin on liquorice for a brand that has been synonymous with the category since the 1930s, when its soft-eating liquorice was first made in a factory under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Nearly a century later, Darrell Lea remains the country’s largest homegrown confectionery business, employing more than 500 people across Australia, New Zealand and the US.
The Choc Logs follow the company’s Chewy Choc range and continue its push to rework classics for a new audience. As with all Darrell Lea products, the Choc Logs are free from palm oil, artificial colours and flavours, with the company moving entirely palm oil-free in 2020.
Darrell Lea’s range now stretches from Rocklea Road to chocolate blocks, balls and bullets and of course, its liquorice and Allsorts. With the Choc Logs, it’s putting another twist on the liquorice and chocolate pairing that has been part of its identity for decades.
