
A new Australian coffee brand, Café Bellezza, is putting women’s preferences at the centre of its blends. Founded by Rosa Gallo, Danielle McMaster and Claire O’Donnell, the brand began as a search for the perfect cup and has grown into a global launch that challenges how the industry approaches flavour.
Southern Italian Influence
Inspired by the southern Italian way of life, Café Bellezza has released three signature blends – Simply Smooth, Beautifully Bold and Delightfully Decaf – each created to reflect different moods and rituals.
The concept was born in Sicily, when a friendly greeting from a local barista sparked the idea of crafting coffee that captures warmth, individuality and connection.
“The way he welcomed everyone was so warm and effortless – that memory left a lasting impression,” says Gallo, recalling the moment that inspired the brand.
Creating Coffee for Women
What began as a personal quest soon evolved into a wider conversation. “Our shared experiences were truly a lightbulb moment, and one that drove us to rethink our relationship with coffee,” says McMaster.
“Our research showed that women possess heightened sensitivity to taste, especially bitterness, spice, and sweetness, which can make traditional coffee blends taste harsh or overpowering. Yet, the industry has long overlooked these nuances, instead presuming one blend should satisfy all.”
Guided by insights, rigorous tasting and a focus on naturally sweeter beans, the team involved female focus groups at every stage, from bean selection to roast profile, brand design and packaging.
“Café Bellezza is about creating a new category of coffee for women,” says O’Donnell. “This brand is about giving women a choice in a space that’s long overlooked their preferences.”
Gallo adds, “The aim is to change the narrative, transforming coffee to a full sensory experience that is smooth, rich and deeply connected to beauty, confidence and individuality. The goal of Café Bellezza is to deliver a coffee that appeals to the heightened taste women have and to enhance the coffee experience.
“Women deserve more from their cup of coffee than just a caffeine hit. Whether a private or shared moment, we developed a brand and product that takes you away from the everyday grind.”
McMaster notes that while the blends were created with women’s preferences in mind, they also cater to a broader audience.
“While created with women’s preferences in mind, men will also enjoy the balance and depth of Café Bellezza. It delivers on the robustness coffee lovers expect, but in a smoother way. Offering a coffee experience that is inclusive yet refreshingly original – a first in the coffee market.”
The three blends include Simply Smooth, which carries light fruit notes and pairs well with milk; Beautifully Bold, a rich, Mediterranean-style roast for espresso lovers; and Delightfully Decaf, a certified organic single-origin coffee with the same texture and flavour minus the caffeine.
All blends are available online at and in-store at Panetta Mercato, the first retailer to stock the range. The company is also developing new products to continue building what it calls a more inclusive, thoughtful coffee experience.
