Editor’s Note
Hi, I’m Pallavi – Founder and Editor of Crumb Wire.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked in PR, content and marketing for global names and local favourites, shaping stories, driving strategy and creating content that actually connects.
But my first and forever love? Food.
Like many good food stories, mine started with my grandmother. She ran a small-batch pickle business in India, crafting recipes that were sought after across the community and talked about long after she left us. She must’ve seen the spark in me, because when she passed, she willed her handwritten recipe books to me.
Crumb Wire is my way of following through on that legacy.
My take on food is simple: Food is egalitarian and it should never be gatekept. I love fine dining, food trucks, and the late-night snack run with equal passion. Food is sustenance, it’s culture, it’s comfort. Simply put, you shouldn’t have to know how to pronounce something to enjoy it.
Australia is a goldmine of culinary innovation and multicultural love for food and to me, it felt like the perfect place to rethink how we talk about food and who we include in that conversation.
Crumb Wire is for the everyday Aussie who wants a pistachio croffle or creme brûlée crepe, not because someone described it as having “textural complexity,” but because they saw it online and it looked bloody delicious.
Those are the stories we’re telling. Join us, won’t you?
Sincerely,
Pallavi Mathur
